In this lesson we were tasked to create a Rubber Duck in Adobe Illustrator. With the knowledge I learnt in previous lessons, I applied the methods and created a 3 Dimensional image. Here are some in depth steps into how I formed the picture:

Step 1: Firstly, open Adobe Illustrator.

Step 2: Once Adobe Illustrator has opened, create a New Document, in which you change the settings to your liking.

Step 3: Once you have changed the settings, go to Moodle > 2016-17 90 Credit & SubDip iMGD > Links relevant to course and scroll down until you find the PNG for the Rubber Duck image.

Step 4: Download the image into your Google Drive folder and then import it into Adobe Illustrator.

Step 5: With the Rubber Duck imported, create a New Layer and then trace over the Rubber Duck using the pen tool.

Step 6: When you have traced over the outline of the Rubber Duck, Change the gradient/colour of the New Layer to a darker shade of yellow. This is so that it creates the effect of a shadow.

Step 7: When the shadow has been created, Go to the layer arrangement panel > and drag the “Shadow” layer underneath the original rubber duck.

Step 8: Move the New layer to a position which mimics that of a shadow.

Step 9: Once you are satisfied with the design, Save the image as, and export it to your Google Drive Folder.
