In this lesson we were tasked to create the past Olympic logos. Firstly, I created the Rio Olympic logo. Here are the steps I took to create the design:
Step 1: Firstly, open Adobe Illustrator.
Step 2: Once Adobe Illustrator has loaded, change the default settings to your liking.
Step 3: When the canvas is setup, Go to http://www.Google.com > Images > Rio Olympic logo > Save as (Into the Google Drive Folder) > Import the image into Adobe Illustrator.
Step 4: When the logo has been imported, create a New Layer, and then (using the pen tool) trace over the image.
Step 5: Always create a New layer for each individual section that you trace over.
Step 6: Select each individual layer and add a gradient colour to the specified area. Make sure that the colours are as accurate as possible.
Step 7: With the overall image traced and shaded, save the image as and export it into your Google Drive Folder.
The task was fairly challenging and it took a lot of alterations from the original trace to get it perfect. However, I was able to apply the knowledge I learnt in previous lessons into my work.
